The 2017 Cadillac Escalade does look like a beast. Drivers who know about cars might find similarities between it and the company’s 1966 Cadillac Eldorado as both vehicles have the same size and also feature a body-on-frame construction. Let’s go over what the 2017 model can offer and if it’s worth the price tag.

The 2017 Cadillac Escalade measures more than 224 inches and has a body-on-frame construction. There’s nothing subtle about this vehicle. It’s big, grand, and a bit in-your-face, being the perfect vehicle to make a statement. If you’re the kind of driver who thinks that size matters then this is the car for you. Even with the standard 20-inch wheels, the car looks huge. The LED head and taillights give rise to a look that’s sophisticated yet crisp. The grille featured in this four-door vehicle is quite large with the company’s logo present in the middle.

The interior of the 2017 Cadillac Escalade includes leather upholstery, a steering wheel that’s title-and-telescoping along with being power-operated and heated. Front seats that are 12-way power adjustable as well as heated and cooled. Furthermore, the driver seat has memory functions. The third-row seat is a power 60/40 folding one. The instrument display is customizable. The CUE infotainment system is located in the center of the dashboard. However, the system’s response via the touchscreen can be a bit delayed. The climate-control can be a bit problematic to use too.

Take note that the interior isn’t as spacious as you might think. While the first two rows do provide ample head and legroom, the shoulder space for passengers might feel a bit limited. The rearmost row offers a space of 15 cubic feet. The legroom also feels a bit cramped. It seems that the third-row seats are only for kids and that too for short trips.

The 2017 Cadillac Escalade is available in four trims which are base, Luxury, Platinum, and Premium Luxury. The vehicle has rear-wheel drive as a standard. You’ll have to pay extra for the all-wheel-drive models. You can also opt for a Dark Adriatic Blue Metallic paint. Furthermore, the vehicle also offers power-retractable running boards and Kona Brown leather seats. The Radiant package includes 22-inch wheels, a garish grille, and a chrome exhaust tip.

A rearview mirror system is also available which displays the camera’s video feed on the rearview mirror. The camera is mounted at the vehicle’s rear. This helps to counter blind spots that might rise due to headrests, pillars, etc. Automatic parking and emergency braking are also available. The CUE touchscreen makes use of capacitive proximity sensing switches. It also includes standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity along with a Bose Centerpoint 2.0 audio system.
