2017 Lexus IS Review
Intro
The 2017 Lexus IS definitely comes across as a car that focuses a lot on how stylish it looks. The front looks fierce and is sure to appeal to a wide car driving audience. Let’s see if the overall bold look has some impressive performance to go with it.
Exterior
The first thing you’ll notice in the 2017 Lexus IS is the bold look. You can’t deny that it is stylish, especially the sculpted sheetmetal. The featured sweeping spindle grille plays a role in making the front of the car look demanding. The LED headlights are ‘dramatic’ for a lack of a better word to explain them. Furthermore, the body lines retain a certain ‘Lexus’ feel to them. This car is all about being noticed. While it might be too much for introverted car drivers, it’s going to be a treat for drivers who like to show off their wheels.
The front and rear ends have been restyled. Furthermore, the air intakes are larger than the previous model. The hood is sculpted. Without mirrors, the car’s width comes in at 71.3 inches and the length is 184.3 inches. It’s around 56. 3 inches high. Furthermore, every Lexus IS has a power sunroof along with ‘passive’ entry.
Interior
The interior of the 2017 Lexus IS has a revised steering wheel. While the design of the dashboard might look old to some, it does offer some enjoyable controls. There’s a lot of space for front-seat passengers, however, the space for the back seats is a bit tight. Furthermore, the surfaces are soft. You’ll also notice aluminum accents. The panel gaps are also airtight. The standard infotainment system is 7.0 inches. However, it doesn’t support Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. It does have a 10-speaker stereo though.
Features
All models of the 2017 Lexus IS has a Lexus Safety System+ along with automated emergency braking. There is also lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and more. The infotainment system can be upgraded to a screen that’s 10.3 inches along with 15 speakers and 835-watt Mark Levinson surround-sound system. Opting for a larger screen does make the icons look modern. The trims include the entry-level Lexus IS 200t, the IS 300, and IS 350, along with an F Sports package. The F Sports package includes heated and cooled, bolstered, power front seats. You’ll also get an interactive digital instrument cluster and F Sports suspension tuning. It also includes adaptive dampers but only for the IS 350 trim.
