2017 Nissan Sentra Nismo Review
Intro
For those of you who don’t know, the Nissan “NISMO” stands for “Nissan Motorsports,” which doesn’t really mean much for those who aren’t a fan of the manufacturer. Let’s see what the 2017 Nissan Sentra NISMO has to offer and if it is capable of attracting new drivers.
Exterior
While one can see the resemblance between the Sentra SR Turbo and the 2017 Nissan Sentra NISMO, especially when it comes to the engine, the exterior has some differences to boast about. The rear dampers are new. The Michelin Port Sport A/S 3+ tires (size 215/45ZR-18) are also an inch larger and about 10 millimeters wider than what’s featured in other Sentra models. You’ll also notice red near the grille, the exhaust, the side mirrors, and even the rocker panels. There’s also red inside the care but we’ll get to that in a bit.
Similar to the other cars in the Sentra lineup, this only also features MacPherson struts at the front along with a torsion beam at the rear. You can get this vehicle in silver, white, dark silver, and even black, allowing you to make the red accents pop out against the color of your choosing.
Interior
The interior of the 2017 Nissan Sentra NISMO isn’t too impressive. Some might say it is even a bit drab. You’ll get to see NISMO badges, suede, faux carbon fiber, and red accents cover most of the interior’s surface. The suede is featured on the steering wheel as well as the armrests. The standard chairs have been replaced by the exclusive NISMO seats.
Some drivers might not appreciate the headrest that can’t be adjusted and feels overstuffed. You’ll need to lean the seat back a bit if you don’t want the back of your head pushing into it. The dash as well as the front seat frames are prone to squeaking and thus giving rise to cheap-feel for the interior. Space is well suited for a five-passenger vehicle. You’ll also get a 15.1 cubic-foot trunk. The rear seats are 60/40 split-folding. However, the high seating position might take away from the otherwise sportier feel of this car.
Features
You can get the 2017 Nissan Sentra NISMO is white, silver, black, and dark silver. It also features a 5.8-inch touchscreen and a telescoping steering wheel. There’s also a NissanConnect multimedia interface that might feel a bit outdated due to the grainy graphics and slow touchscreen response. The Bose audio system is also featured in this vehicle with adjustable front and rear seats. The Nissan Sentra NISMO is lacking in the kind of features one would expect for a sporty looking car.
