2018 Audi A5 Sportback Review

Intro
At first glance, you’ll be able to see that the 2018 Audi A5 Sportback combines a number of features from numerous other Audis. It has the sweeping lines that were shown in the A5 coupe, and even the four-door layout as well as the cargo space featured in the A4 sedan. I’m all for car companies taking what worked in other models and offering it with other features in new iterations. The best part is that the 2018 Audi A5 is able to stand out on its own even though it borrows stuff from its siblings. Let’s take a closer look!
Exterior
The exterior of the 2018 A5 Sportback is all about exuding a dashing style. Your gaze will be caught by the sharp creases and the bright LED exterior lighting. The roofline has a coupe-like slope that adds to the grandeur of this car. The front grille is also quite wide, with the logo on the upper-middle part of it. As mentioned, if you’re familiar with the other cars in the Audi line, you can make out the designs the company repeated, with a few tweaks, in this model. This car is 72.6-inches in width (without mirrors), 186.3-inches in length, and 54.6-inches in height.
Interior
While the exterior is impressive, the interior of the 2018 Audi A5 Sportback could have done with a few improvements. The cabin isn’t as luxurious as one might expect considering it’s a car from a luxury brand. However, having said that, the materials used are of high quality. The front seats are very comfortable and offer adequate space to the driver as side passenger. The rear-seat passenger space, while being enough for two average-sized adults, doesn’t give a lot of headroom due to the sloping roofline.
The interior features power front seats, a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, three-zone climate control, and ambient interior lighting. The Premium and Premium Plus models are accompanied by a 7.0-inch infotainment display. You can control it by a click wheel present on the console that’s between the driver and the front-seat. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility are standard. Furthermore, the 10-speaker audio system is standard. You can go for the optional Bang & Olufsen 19-speaker setup if you want.
Features
The Audi Quattro all-wheel-drive system is standard. You’ll get three trims with the 2018 Audi A5. These are the Premium, Premium Plus, and the Prestige. Take note that the Premium Plus, a mid-level trim, adds blind-spot monitoring as well as rear cross-traffic alert. You’ll also get LED headlamps, heated front seats with memory foam settings, and keyless entry with push-button start. The Prestige trim gives you a 12.3-inch digital gauge display as well as the rest of options from Premium Plus.
Going for the optional Navigation package will get you a larger 8.3-inch infotainment system and an impressive Audi Virtual Cockpit digital gauge cluster. Your car will also have access to Audi Connect Prim and Plus, including live traffic updates, Wi-Fi hotspots, and Google Earth connectivity. The S Line Sports package adds sports seats featuring four-way lumbar adjustments.
