2019 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Review
Intro
For a lot of drivers out there, you can’t go wrong with an Aston Martin. Whether it is the performance or the overall look, the Aston Martin brand has kept quality and style attached to its name for decades. Coming to the 2019 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera, it offers you a lighter vehicle which is still able to be more robust than others. Let’s see what more it has in store for drivers!
Exterior
The exterior of the 2019 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera is a sight to behold. Whether you are a fan of the models from this company, you have to appreciate the look. There is a lot to talk about this car when it comes to the exterior. Size-wise, the DBS is a bit minuscule than the Vanquish, the dissimilarity is almost trivial at eight mm (0.31 inches) though, but it’s an astonishing 241 mm (9.5 inches) wider. The wheelbase is also a few inches longer, while the height is exactly the same at 1,280 mm (50.4 inches). In addition, it is manufactured with carbon-fiber body panels that aids to minimize weight and improve acuteness.
The fascia at the front is extremely truculent, almost no bodywork beneath the nose. The whole bumper is a huge honeycomb grille, bordered by triangular vents at the far end corners. The headlamps are slim and sport a unique design, also a C-shaped LED pattern. It has a V-shaped engine hood with huge vents in the direction of the windshield.
The side view is brawny and structured. The traditional front fender strake was exchanged with a ventilated cutout. It permits the air to escape and flow along the car’s flanks, improving aerodynamics.
The side skirts are wide and aggressive, an effect complemented by the deeply sculpted dent under the door. This vehicle’s muscular rear haunches are highlighted by the steeply raked roofline and the surprisingly long decklid. Also, the entire roof is finished in black, providing a two-tone, classic contrast with the bright red body of the presentation model. Aston Martin offers three roof finishes, including gloss black, Twill Gloss Carbon Fiber, and Gloss Carbon Fiber Tinted Black.
The fascia and the taillights both are very narrow, while the light bar that runs across the entire width of the car aids with the planted stance. On top of the decklid, the Aeroblade further improves aerodynamics.
Further down, the titanium exhaust pipes and the license plate are installed in a black panel.
Interior
Moving to the interior of the 2019 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera, you will notice a structured dashboard with A/C vents at the sides and a center stack that is wide at the top and becomes slimmer as you move toward the bottom. It has a lightly reskinned version of the 8-inch COMAND infotainment system which many might recognize in Mercedes-Benz models. There are also buttons for transmission and even more controls for the air conditioning system. To be honest, the 8-inch infotainment system might seem small when compared to the rest of the space on the dashboard. However, it is still easy to use. The surround sound system is Bang & Olufsen.
The front seats are comfortable and well-spaced. And while there are rear seats, they don’t give the best amount of leg and headroom for taller passengers, especially if you are planning on making a long trip in this car. The trunk space is big enough to accommodate two large trolley bags and smaller carry-on baggage. So, at least, that’s a plus.
Features
The 2019 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera features satellite navigation with wi-fi, an audio system with DAB, Bluetooth audio and phone streaming. Keep in mind that Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available as standard tools or extras. There is a standard 360-degree camera with Parking Distance Display and Park Assist. Other standard safety features such include airbags, reverse assist, and blindspot monitoring. You also get keyless entry as well as heated and ventilated seats.
