2019 BMW M850i Review
Intro
The BMW manufactures have proudly introduced their new heftier, meaner and brawnier 2019 BMW series 8 model. It has effectively replaced its last 650i series although a little expensively. The BMW 8 series is a blend of a sleek sports car and a comfortable grand tourer.
The BMW Dingolfing plant in Germany built this mega luxury car. The number “8” assigned to this sporty model indicates its high ranking in the BMW product range. The concept behind the updated design of BMW 8 Series Coupe’s design, was to provide a luxury brand which would be able to give you a powerful, thrilling driving experience. The agility, precision, and poise upgraded in these series are supposed to make it equal to any BMW M8 GTE race car, which has a high reputation for long distance races in 2018 FIA Endurance Championship and 2018 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Let’s see if the 2019 BMW M850i can deliver on these promises.
Exterior
The latest BMW 8 series is surrounded by a unique aura depicting a beautiful blend of sporty appeal with an exclusive new styling signature focusing on modernity and elegance. The all-new defining elements of this BMW 8 series are seen in its low-slung design including an elongated silhouette with slim window pillars. The BMW M850i is no different. A distinctive double-bubble contouring can be seen in its roofline. It sports a long wheelbase accompanied by a wide track, which is just right for that perfect grip and control on the road.
The BMW kidney grille has a hexagonal outline which widens at the bottom. Its sculptured jutting design at the front with sleek, full LED headlights featuring BMW LaserLight technology makes night driving a breeze. The rear lights are slim and slender and extend deep into its flanks. Twin tailpipes with trapezoid contour are present on either side of the rear lower section. Furthermore, the design’s precision ensures optimum aerodynamics and weight balance.
Interior
The interior console of the 2019 BMW M850i rises in the center upwards toward the instrument panel effectively partitioning the driver from the passenger area. The center console has all the different functional units arranged neatly in a horizontal fashion for easy accessibility. You get an audio control unit, air conditioning control panel, air vents, freestanding and frameless Control Display, gear selector, iDrive controller, Driving Experience Control switch and start/stop button for the engine.
The area between the steering wheel and the driver’s door holds the unit for controlling the vehicle’s lights. The steering wheel is of the leather M sports variety, with multifunction buttons and shift paddles for manual gear selection. Its upholstered with premium Merino Individual leather. The sporty look is enhanced with stitching done in contrasting colors.
The front backrest has a semi-electric folding mechanism to facilitate entry and exit for rear passengers. Also, backrests have headrests which can be adjusted for both height and sitting positions. Its door has large pockets complemented by a roomy glove compartment. From two cup holders to a spacious trunk, you can see a focused design construction for these series.
